Convention Facilities
Hartford is home to the Connecticut Convention Center overlooking the beautiful Connecticut River and Adriaen’s Landing, the city’s exciting new riverfront district. With over 140,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 40,000 square foot ballroom and 25,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, it is the largest convention facility between New York and Boston.
The Connecticut Expo Center is just North & West of the I-84/I-91 interestion and has 88,000 square feet of contiguous ground-level space and 3,000 additional square feet of meeting space.
The Hartford Civic Center is Connecticut's largest in-door premier sports and entertainment facility. A landmark since 1975, the Hartford Civic Center's past headliners include the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, U2, Eric Clapton, Janet Jackson, Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Britney Spears, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Neil Diamond.

The Connecticut State Capitol Building
The gold-leaf dome of the State Capitol, visible from The Boardroom, is an easy walking distance of a few blocks. Built in 1878, it houses the state's executive offices and legislative chamber, as well as historical memorabilia. Tours are available to observe the proceedings of the General Assembly from the public galleries, when in session.

The Wadsworth, built in 1842, is America's oldest public art museum. Its distinctive "castle" exterior will catch your eye as you head north on Main Street from The Boardroom. They have recently extensively renovated their sculpture garden and with their dedication to the arts, this landmark is worth a visit while in Downtown Hartford.

The Old State House on Main Street is the pillar of Connecticut's democratic heritage. Connecticut is known as "The Constitution State" because it was on the site of the Old State House in 1637 that the first written constitution guaranteeing the right to representative government was enacted by the English colonists. The current building, which is one of the oldest State Houses in the US, was completed in 1796. It is designated a National Historic Landmark by the U. S. Department of the Interior and serves as a museum.

Hartford's oldest house, the 1782 homestead also contains Hartford's oldest collection of art, antiques and household items. Eliza Butler and her husband, the Rev. John McCook, along with their seven children lived in the house. It was built for Eliza's grandparents, Dr. Daniel and Sarah Sheldon Butler. Family possessions accumulated over nearly 200 years blend with an unusual collection of Japanese armor with fine American paintings, antiques and Victorian period toys. It is an easy walk one block North of The Boardroom on Main Street.
